Due to the extreme/red weather warning for Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 July, teams with LSL fixtures on either of these two days are allowed to reschedule these games should they wish.
Should one team want to reschedule this will not count as a forfeit. We ask teams to be understanding regarding this.
If you have a fixture, please liaise with the opposition and umpire in advance to agree arrangements.
Further Details
Temperatures are due to reach 40C over 18/19 July, with the highest possible Weather Warning issued nationally. While temperatures may drop slightly in the evening during game time, they may still be in excess of 35C. This may affect players and could potentially lead to heat exhaustion or other related ailments. Furthermore, public transport will be majorly affected, with some trains at half speed and TFL advice to avoid public transport.
Due to these potential health & safety and travel issues, the League is allowing fixtures on 18/19 July to be rescheduled, at the discretion/agreement of the teams involved.
Should your game go ahead during the weather warning, please approach sensibly. Ensure all players remain well hydrated, allow for longer breaks between innings, make use of shade where possible and consider starting the fixture later.
Please follow government advice where necessary/unsure and familiarise yourself with symptoms of heat exhaustion.
